Volunteer Opportunities
At Mind and Motion Alliance (MAMA), volunteers are the heart of our mission, bringing compassion, dedication, and enthusiasm to bring awareness, support individuals and families affected by Stroke, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Parkinson’s. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities that allow community members to get involved, make a meaningful impact, and join us in raising awareness, providing support, and driving change. Here are some of the ways you can lend your time and talents to our cause:
- Support Group Facilitators
Description: Facilitate online and in-person support groups, creating a welcoming and safe environment for individuals, caregivers, and families to share their experiences, challenges, and insights. Facilitators help guide discussions and foster meaningful connections among members of our community.
Who We Need: Compassionate, empathetic individuals who can actively listen, lead discussions, and encourage an open, supportive atmosphere. - Community Outreach Volunteers
Description: Assist with promoting MAMA’s programs and resources in local communities, helping us raise awareness about neurological and cognitive disorders. Outreach volunteers may attend events, distribute materials, and build relationships with local organizations to expand our reach.
Who We Need: Outgoing, motivated individuals with a passion for community engagement and a desire to connect with others. - Event Support Team
Description: Join us in organizing and running events such as educational workshops, awareness campaigns, and fundraisers. Event volunteers assist with planning, logistics, setup, and on-the-day operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
Who We Need: Team-oriented, organized individuals who enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable with the dynamic nature of events. - Content Creators & Social Media Volunteers
Description: Help us educate and inspire online by creating valuable content, from blog articles to social media posts. Volunteers in this role can assist with writing articles on neurological and cognitive health, designing social media graphics, and engaging with our online community to spread awareness.
Who We Need: Creative thinkers with skills in writing, graphic design, social media, or communications who want to help us amplify our message. - Administrative Support
Description: Provide crucial behind-the-scenes support by helping with administrative tasks, including managing communications, organizing resources, and data entry. Administrative volunteers ensure our programs run smoothly and that we can focus on directly supporting our community.
Who We Need: Detail-oriented, reliable individuals comfortable with office tasks and technology, eager to contribute to our operations. - Fundraising Champions
Description: Play an essential role in sustaining our work by helping to organize fundraising initiatives or hosting peer-to-peer campaigns within your networks. These champions work closely with our fundraising team to develop creative ways to garner support for MAMA’s programs.
