A Stroke of Courage Gala Event
The Stroke of Courage Gala on December 28, 2024, was a night of inspiration and unity hosted by the Mind and Motion Alliance (M.A.M.A.). The event featured empowering speeches by Dr. Tiffany McCalla Bottorff, who educated attendees on stroke recognition and impact, and keynote speaker Dr. Carvalho-Donaldson, a stroke survivor whose story of resilience deeply moved the audience.
Honors included the Stroke of Courage Award, presented to Lenore Brown for her unwavering support of stroke survivors, and the Service Award in Honor of Estena Harrison, given to Nurse Caleb Tirvey for his selfless care of Estena during her battle with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s. The gala celebrated strength, courage, and service, uniting attendees in the mission to raise awareness and support for neurological diseases.
